How we grow
Our vegetables are hand picked ripe from the plant and delivered fresh to ensure high quality and the best fresh taste.

How We Grow
Here's an example. To provide you the customer with quality garden produce earlier in the season we now produce some of our tomatoes in a high tunnel. These tomatoes are planted in the soil and exposed to the sun and wind, the same as garden planted tomatoes. The poly high tunnel allows us to plant before the last chance of frost in the spring, bringing fresh garden tomatoes to you sooner in the summer. We are also able to precisely control the amount and timing of water for the tomatoes for a better quality fruit.

Fresh for You
Locally grown vegetables are picked ripe giving them a fuller garden taste. By vine ripening the vegetables have a higher ripe sugar content and more nutrient development than a green picked vegetable. This gives you a more flavorful vegetable that is better for you. Locally grown vegetables are not shipped long distances and therefore use fewer fossil fuels on the market chain. This means buying locally is better for the environment. Local growers can also grow varities that don't ship well, giving you more choices.

Know About Your Food
When buying locally ask questions: Did you grow this? What variety is this vegetable?  When was it picked? If the seller is the grower they will be able to answer all of these questions. This allows you to make better purchasing choices. Buying locally also supports the local economy.
